One 180ml refill lasts up to 3–4 months. How long yours lasts depends on your space:

• Number of reeds. More reeds give a stronger scent but use up the oil faster.
• Airflow and heat. Fans, air-conditioner vents, open windows and direct sunlight all speed up evaporation.
• Room size. Smaller, enclosed spaces like bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes hold the scent longer.

For the longest-lasting fragrance, place your diffuser in a cool, well-ventilated spot away from direct sun and strong drafts.

Yes, we recommend it, which is why every refill comes with a free pack of 12 reed sticks. Over time, old reeds fill up with fragrance oil and dust, so they draw up less oil and the scent becomes weaker. Fresh reeds keep your new scent at its best from day one.

Our reeds are made from polyester fibre, which diffuses scent more effectively than traditional rattan and won’t grow mould.

Pristine refills work with any reed, ball or car diffuser, so you can keep using a vessel you love. You can also use the refill bottle itself as a diffuser: just insert the reeds.

Before switching scents, use up or pour out any remaining oil. Wipe the vessel clean and let it dry, then add the new refill with fresh reeds. Mixing different scents can muddy the fragrance, and leftover oil can carry over a stale note.

There are a few common reasons, and they’re easy to fix:

• Flip the reeds. Turning the reeds over every week or so brings fresh oil to the top and refreshes the scent.
• Add more reeds. Using more of your 12 reeds gives a stronger scent, though the refill won’t last as long.
• Your nose may have adjusted. After a while, we stop noticing scents we live with every day. Step out of the room and come back, or ask a visitor whether they can smell it.
• Your reeds may be clogged. If flipping no longer helps, switch to a fresh set.

It takes less than a minute:

1. Remove the old reeds and pour out any remaining oil.
2. Pour the new refill into your vessel, or simply use the refill bottle on its own.
3. Insert the fresh reed sticks.
4. Your new scent will start filling the room within 12 hours.
5. Flip the reeds every week or so to keep the scent strong.
