Setting up takes under a minute, with no melting or pouring of hot wax.

1. Pour the sand wax into the glass jar provided, or any heat-resistant container you love.
2. Push a wick into the centre of the wax, leaving only a 0.5cm tip above the surface. That’s just enough to light it.
3. Keep at least 5cm of wax around the wick and at least 2.5cm of wax beneath it.
4. Light the wick and let the Himalayan Tea scent gently fill the room.

Tip: if your wick burns out quickly, it’s usually because too much of it was left above the wax. Push it further in so only the tip shows.

You don’t have to. You can relight the same wick until it’s fully used. Swapping in a fresh wick is what makes your candle look brand new again, and your kit includes 30 wicks so you can refresh it as often as you like.

To refresh: once the candle has cooled, lift out the used wick along with the small disc of hardened wax around it. Smooth the surface, insert a new wick, and it’s ready to light. [Optional, if you want to recommend it: crumble the hardened disc back into the jar so nothing goes to waste.]

On average, one kit gives around 80 hours of burn time. How long the full 350g lasts depends on how you use it: whether you relight the same wick or refresh it each time, how many wicks you burn at once, and how long each session runs.

Yes, this is one of the best parts of sand wax. A thick glass, ceramic or metal vessel works best. Avoid thin glass and plastic, which can crack or warp in the heat. Whatever you choose should be wide enough that the melt pool stays well away from the edges and the container doesn’t get hot while the candle is burning. [We recommend a container at least 10cm wide at its narrowest point for a single wick.]

There’s no need to add fragrance oils, as the scent is already blended into the wax. If you’d like more fragrance in a larger room, pair your candle with a Himalayan Tea reed diffuser or room spray.
